How Can I Fix My Carburetor ?
I have a 1978 Chevy Pick-up with a 350 engine and automatic transmission. One day i decided to see how fast the truck could go and pushed her to about 95. As i pulled into my driveway the truck began running awkwardly. It was if the engine was having trouble getting gas. Ever since I have not been able to use the truck because of this problem. I have played with the carb a few times and it seems as if it is sucking alot of air. It is a Rochester Quadrajet carb. If anybody knows what the problem could be or how to fix it please let me know.
Thanks
You might just have a vacuum leak, check to see if a hose came off... On the other hand rochester quadrajet carbs either run smooth or run rough, I have rebuilt a few of them, if you have the ability, patience, and power doesn't matter go that route. But on the other hand if you want the truck to run twice as strong and can afford a different carb altogether (roughly $225.00-$300.00 new depending where you buy) get yourself a carter or edelbrock carb (carter makes edelbrock's carbs for them) You will be surprised how much power you were missing out on.
